MediVara is a reader-focused health and wellness publication. Some of the
links on this site are affiliate links. This page explains exactly what that
means, so you can read our articles with full context.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a tracked link to a product or service sold by another
company. If you follow one of these links and take a qualifying action — such as
making a purchase — MediVara may receive a commission from that company.
You are never charged extra because you used our link. The
price you pay is the price the merchant sets, whether you arrive through
MediVara or go to the merchant directly.
How we mark commercial links
Affiliate links on MediVara are marked with the sponsored link
attribute, which is the standard signal search engines use to identify paid or
commercial links. Where a section of an article exists because of a commercial
relationship, we label it near the content itself rather than relying only on
this page.
How affiliate relationships affect our articles
We want to be precise here rather than making claims we cannot evidence:
- Not every article contains affiliate links. Many of our
articles have no commercial relationship at all, and we publish them regardless. - We do not accept payment to write a positive article.
Commissions are paid on reader actions, not on the opinions we express. - An article should be useful with the links removed. If a
piece only exists to carry a commercial link, it does not belong on MediVara. - We do not claim to have personally tested products unless we
actually have, and we say so explicitly when that is the case.
What we do not do
- We do not present vendor marketing claims as established fact.
- We do not invent reviews, ratings, testimonials or test results.
- We do not claim medical endorsement for products we link to.
- We do not use countdown timers, fake stock counts or manufactured urgency.
Tracking
When you follow a commercial link, we record that the click happened and which
article it came from, so we can understand which content is useful to readers. We
do not need or collect your name, email address or payment details in order to do
this. The merchant or affiliate network you land on operates its own tracking
under its own privacy policy.
Health content and commercial links
MediVara publishes health journalism. Our articles are not medical advice,
and they are not reviewed by a licensed clinician. A product appearing on
MediVara is not a treatment recommendation and should not be treated as one.
Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your own health,
particularly before starting any supplement, device or programme.
Questions
If anything on this site is unclear about whether a relationship is
commercial, we would rather you asked. You can reach us through our
